THE SYMBOL
Como el coquí, seguimos aquí
The coquí is native to Puerto Rico and deeply tied to the island’s ecosystem, culture, and memory. Its unmistakable song has become a symbol of home for Puerto Ricans across generations and throughout the world.
Today, environmental change threatens parts of the coquí’s natural habitat, making its presence an even deeper symbol of cultural continuity, belonging, and the importance of protecting what carries us forward.
El coquí es parte esencial de la naturaleza, la cultura y la memoria de Puerto Rico. Aún frente a los cambios ambientales que amenazan su hábitat, sigue siendo un símbolo de continuidad, pertenencia y resistencia.
The flor de maga, Puerto Rico’s national flower, reflects the beauty and vibrancy of the island, while the black Puerto Rican flag represents resilience, pride, and cultural presence.
